With a population of over 80 Million, nearly three-quarters of which is urban, an abundance of oil and other resources, and global ambitions, the Islamic Republic of Iran had multiple reasons to trade its near term nuclear and missile capacities for relief from economic sanctions. Now that the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action is effective, however, its impact is far from clear. While European businesses are rampaging to Iran, American businesses and professionals still face a myriad of regulatory barriers. This program will explore and explain what the JCPOA did and did not do to repave the once vibrant road to Tehran for American interests.
