The program will provide in-depth information on the following areas: (1) "Expanded Medicaid Transitions," (2) "The Inner-Workings of Medicaid Asset Protection Trusts," and (3) "Ethics for Attorneys Serving as Fiduciaries." The program will feature a presentation by Jacob McDonald, Esq., Client Services Counsel with Medicare Rights Center, who will discuss the transition process for individuals with expanded Medicaid coverage who are newly or soon-to-be Medicare-eligible. Jeffrey Asher, Esq., of the Law Offices of Jeffrey A. Asher, PLLC, will provide an in-depth analysis of the inner-workings of Medicaid asset protection trusts. The program will also cover the intersection between ethical and fiduciary obligations of attorneys who serve clients in a fiduciary capacity, including as guardians and trustees, presented by Hal R. Lieberman, of Emery Celli Brinckerhoff & Abady LLP and Daniel Fish, Esq., partner at McLaughlin & Stern.
