This course will be a detailed and in-depth review of the requirements for obtaining on and off premises liquor licenses including who may be licensed and statutory disqualifications, premises that can and cannot be licensed, and the process and procedure before the New York State Liquor Authority and the local Community Boards. It will cover the 200 foot rule, the public interest standard of 500 foot rule, tied house issues, temporary retail and other special permits, and the differences between new license applications and transfer applications. The course will also touch upon liquor license contingencies in leases and purchase and sales agreements, the requirements for liquor or package store applications, and disciplinary matters.
