Description:
This panel will explore the lasting effects of colonialism in Africa, well after most African countries obtained independence in the 1960s. Independence promised the transmission of sovereignty from European rulers to African population, but more than half a century later colonialism’s influence persists. Panelist will discuss how the legacy of colonialism has limited African sovereignty, and examine the political, economic, and legal implications.
