The New York City Law Department is growing rapidly and actively recruiting talented attorneys to help meet the City’s most urgent and evolving legal needs. For anyone considering a career in government service—or seeking work with real impact—this program offers a rare opportunity to hear directly from newly appointed Corporation Counsel Steven Banks as he lays out a bold vision for the future of the Law Department.

In his opening remarks, Corporation Counsel Banks will highlight the transformational work ahead and the Department’s central role in shaping a more equitable, affordable, and forward looking New York City. Attendees will then hear from a panel of attorneys who are on the front lines defending the City’s laws, advising agencies, and supporting public servants. Panelists will share candid insights about their practice areas, the challenges and rewards of their work, opportunities for growth and leadership, and why they have chosen careers grounded in public service and purpose.
