Cover Letter Workshop
Cover Letter Workshop
Tuesday, November 6, 2018 | 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Program Fee: $5 Student Members | $15 members | $30 non-members
Description:
Next to your resume, a well-crafted cover letter allows you to set yourself apart from the competition in what continues to be a highly competitive legal job market. Your cover letter not only functions as a critical marketing tool about your overall qualifications, but also serves as your writing sample of first impression.
Cover letters that are that are thoughtfully drafted can help open doors with employers, while poorly drafted documents will likely have the opposite effect. Job seekers who are intimidated or overwhelmed by the task of cover letter writing end up underselling themselves to employers. The workshop will include a panel discussion of cover letter writing pointers and strategies, followed by breakout sessions.
Note: This program will be most useful for those who have a draft coverletter and resume that they can bring and revise.
