Description:
Are you concerned that one out of two Americans can’t name the three branches of government, and only two-thirds of eligible Americans vote in presidential elections?
Come hear from New York City Schools Chancellor
David Banks
, followed by a panel discussion about civic education efforts across the city, volunteer opportunities and first-hand accounts of the impact of civics programs on students and volunteers.
You will also have the opportunity to meet with multiple organizations that engage with New York City’s students to increase their civics knowledge and activity and sign up to volunteer! Many programs require only a small time commitment and others provide for deeper involvement. Bring your colleagues! There are opportunities for lawyers and non-lawyers.
