Description:
Join us during Law Day for a conversation with Dr. Richard Haass, longtime President of the Council on Foreign Relations and author of the just published book
The Bill of Obligations: The Ten Habits of Good Citizens
. This year’s Law Day theme, “Cornerstones of Democracy: Civics, Civility and Collaboration,” echoes throughout Dr. Haass’s book, which posits that the nation needs to adopt a Bill of Obligations, responsibilities that Americans and their leaders must undertake to preserve our democracy. In conversation with Dean Gillian Lester of Columbia Law School, Dr. Haass will discuss the need for a Bill of Obligations, what they should be, how we can implement them and the risks if we don’t.
