Description:
Are you looking for advice on how to overcome the challenges facing law students and LL.M. candidates from HUGs as they transition from the classroom into compliance or legal careers? Please join the New York City Bar Association for a frank virtual discussion with compliance lawyers of exceptionally diverse backgrounds on what it means to be a compliance professional and the opportunities for law students and LL.M. candidates who may face societal, psychological and/or financial hurdles to have fulfilling careers in the compliance space.

Participants will have the opportunity, in smaller, rotating virtual group sessions, to engage with experienced and diverse lawyers on their personal career paths in compliance. They will discuss how they overcame structural barriers and biases as law students and lawyers, and practical steps that attendees can take to overcome these hurdles and break into the compliance field
