Program Note:
Diversity is a fundamental component of a fair and impartial judiciary.  It is essential to obtaining the public trust that the court system and the decisions it renders are legitimate.  The court’s legitimacy is strengthened when judges share characteristics that are similar to the public at large.  This program features a conversation among jurists from our state and federal benches on the importance of diversity in the judicial branches of our state and federal governments.  The panelists will also talk about their path to the bench, any adversity that they faced, and their views on how diversity can be enhanced in the profession and the courts.
