Description:
SECURE 2.0, enacted in late December, is the most extensive retirement legislation in the past 15 years. Its 92 sections make hundreds of changes impacting all types of retirement plans, including 401(k)s and IRAs, and many provisions have already taken effect. Among the new opportunities and challenges are new auto-enrollment requirements and provisions encouraging new plan formation, emergency savings, expanded participation, annuitization of benefits, employer matching of student loan repayments, and portability, and also affecting RMDs, catch-up contributions, and plan administration. In this program, Mark Iwry, former Deputy Assistant Secretary and Senior Advisor to the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury for national retirement and health policy, will discuss the most significant mandatory and optional provisions that the employee benefits community will need to apply in 2023 and beyond and the major policy goals of this much-anticipated legislation
