Description:
Census response is critical for the well-being of our city. In 2010, New York City’s response rate was less than 62% and in some neighborhoods as low as 35%, compared to a national average of 76%. What’s at stake? Billions in federal funds that we need for public education, housing, health care, roads and bridges, and community services, and the loss of two seats in Congress. Increasing the response rate is vital. Join us to hear from the nation’s top experts on the census and redistricting and learn about the work of local census support organizations. Following the panel will be an opportunity for networking with the presenters and attendees.
