Description:
Artificial intelligence is set to bring dramatic change to American democracy, influencing everything from how elections are managed to how voters are engaged, and how political campaigns raise funds and advertise. On the positive side, AI could enhance election processes, ensuring greater fairness and encouraging more inclusive and respectful public dialogue. On the other hand, there are significant risks, such as the potential spread of misinformation through deepfakes and fake news, increased attacks on election officials and infrastructure, and the suppression of voting rights. Join us as the panel explores how AI is transforming our democracy, what we may see next, as well as how lawmakers have been and could be responding in the coming years.
