Description:
Santiago Caviedes, Ecuador’s former Vice Minister of Economy, has described Ecuador as a jewel to be discovered, where perceived risks exceed actual ones, generating the opportunity for doing business in the country.  In that respect, Ecuador compares very well with its regional peers, notably in terms of foreign direct investment opportunities despite current fiscal challenges. Mr. Caviedes will provide a detailed overview of Ecuador’s current economic situation and his informed outlook for the future, emphasizing the high correlation of the commodity cycle with growth in Latin America and Ecuador in particular.
