Description:
El Salvador recently became the first country to use Bitcoin as legal tender. Lawmakers in several Latin American countries have proposed legislation to do the same in their jurisdictions. The regulatory landscape governing Blockchain-Crypto-Digital Assets in Latin America is evolving almost as rapidly as the United States. The panel will also discuss developments in the regulatory and enforcement frameworks in the United States and how they bear on Latin America. Finally, the panel will address recent U.S. civil litigations around crypto assets and what this might mean for cross-border arbitrations and litigations involving Bitcoin.
