Description:
Last year was marked by rising inflation. In some of the largest economies in the region (Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru), prices increased by 8.3 percent in 2021—the largest jump in 15 years and higher than in other emerging markets. Inflation Is Raging Everywhere, But It's Worst in Latin America. At the same time, only 51% of adults in Latin America have a bank account according to the World Bank. This panel will discuss the efforts of governments in Latin America to tame inflation.  The panel will also regulatory challenges faced by banks in the region.  Finally, the panel will discuss the potential for digital innovation to create new opportunities to better serve underserved populations and existing customers.
