Description:
The responsibilities on corporate compliance programs continue to grow. New regulations, evolving data privacy and cybersecurity laws, and the increasingly multi-jurisdictional environment where many employees still work remotely have all added to the burdens on compliance programs. Developing technology, artificial intelligence, and machine-learning solutions, as well as the evolution of digital assets and cryptocurrencies, have also increased the challenges facing compliance officers. With regulators and law enforcement agencies expecting companies to have robust compliance programs, those that don’t may face significant consequences in the event of a legal, ethics, or compliance breach.

Compliance Institute 2025 will bring together top in-house compliance officers and professionals and leading outside compliance counsel and consultants to discuss how they approach this complex ethics and compliance environment. In addition, senior regulators will present their perspectives on why they make the rules, how they enforce them, and what they expect corporate compliance programs to look like. This year’s institute will cover the key issues facing the compliance profession generally, including:

• how to set the right compliance culture and make your compliance program work in practice
• the impact of recent Supreme Court decisions such as SEC v. Jarkesy
• the risks and rewards of self-reporting, whistleblower programs, data privacy and cybersecurity, anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, and economic sanctions, off-channel communications, and diversity, equity, and inclusion
• how compliance programs are impacted by the new administration.
