Description:
Courts across the world are under mounting strain, and concerns about their independence are intensifying.  In both the U.S. and India, executive and legislative interference, contentious judicial appointments, and structural weaknesses have posed serious challenges to judicial independence.

Marking the 75th anniversary of the Indian Supreme Court in 2025, this event, with judges, leading scholars, practitioners, and international experts, will examine regional patterns affecting judicial independence and explore the Court’s pivotal role in upholding democracy and safeguarding the rule of law.
