Please join us at the Lawyer Assistance Program's Annual Celebration of Service where we will hear from keynote speaker Hon. Mary Beth O’Connor, Retired Federal Judge and Author of the bestselling “From Junkie to Judge: One Woman's Triumph Over Trauma and Addiction”. We will also be recognizing our LAP volunteers and advocates who have contributed to LAPs mission to support the wellbeing of the legal profession.  

Keynote Speaker:
Mary Beth O’Connor, Retired Federal Judge and Author of the bestselling “From Junkie to Judge: One Woman's Triumph Over Trauma and Addiction”.  Mary Beth O'Connor is a New Jersey native and a California-based addiction recovery advocate and writer who retired as a federal Administrative Law Judge in 2020. In her recently released From Junkie to Judge, Judge O'Connor shares her inspiring journey from rock bottom to resilience as she forged a personal path to recovery from trauma and addiction. The Library Journal's review of Judge O'Connor's debut memoir called it "Page turning prose," "harrowing yet affirming," and "sad but ultimately uplifting."
