Description:

The Legal Leaders Institute (LLI) is a curated eight-month leadership experience designed for lawyers on the cusp of significant influence. Developed in partnership between the New York City Bar Association and Coston Consulting, this rigorous program helps junior law firm partners and emerging corporate counsel strengthen leadership capability, enhance strategic perspective, and build enduring connections across the legal industry. 

Program Pillars: 
 
     •    Leadership Development: Gain frameworks used by top-performing leaders to navigate
          complexity and influence decision-making. 
     •    Strategic Insight: Learn practical strategies to grow a practice and partner with business
          stakeholders at a higher level. 
     •    High-Value Networks: Build authentic, lasting relationships with peers, senior counsel,
          and industry experts. 
     •    Coaching & Mentorship: Personalized support to refine leadership behaviors and make
          confident career decisions.

Program Features:

     •    LLI Leadership Retreat: An immersive, in-person kickoff featuring keynote conversations
          with distinguished leaders and hands-on workshops. 
     •    Corporate Counsel Community Circles: Confidential, facilitated conversations for in-
          house participants to explore real-world leadership challenges. 
     •    1:1 Performance Coaching: Law firm participants partner with a dedicated coach to build
          a tailored development plan. 
     •    Industry Expert Forums: Exclusive dialogues with thinkers providing forward-looking
          perspectives on market dynamics and innovation. 

Cohort Journey: 

     •    Phase 1 – Preparation (Feb-Mar 2026): Selection, assessments, and onboarding. 
     •    Phase 2 – Program Launch (April 2026): Virtual kickoff and immersive in-person retreat. 
     •    Phase 3 – Development Experience (May-Oct 2026): Monthly Community Circles, 1:1
          coaching, and Industry Expert Forums. 
     •    Phase 4 – Completion (Nov 2026): Final coaching, closing celebration, and alumni
          network launch. 

Participation and Nomination: 

LLI is a selective program for rising leaders—junior partners or emerging corporate counsel—with approximately 10-15 years of experience. Select organizations are invited to nominate up to two individuals who demonstrate leadership promise and a commitment to growth.
