As dramatically portrayed in the film The Last Jews of Baghdad, portions of which will be shown, starting in the 1920s then accelerating due to Nazi influence in the 1930’s and 1940’s and again with the founding of Israel in 1948, virtually all of the Arab States either forcefully expelled or promulgated laws and permitted pogroms that made life untenable for their indigenous Jewish communities which in many cases dated back literally thousands of years. This program will tell that largely untold story from both a historical and legal perspective.
