Description:
A panel discussion composed of senior Assistant District Attorneys familiar with the hiring and recruitment process in each of the County District Attorney offices within New York City, along with Westchester, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. Panelists will discuss the structure of their office, the types of cases that new attorneys are generally assigned, the “career paths” available in their office, the qualifications sought for the position of Assistant District Attorney, and the basics of applying to the office in each county. Special emphasis will be placed on the discussion of efforts to recruit applicants from diverse backgrounds, and the ways in which applicants can best prepare themselves to be a successful candidate.
