The work of an insurance lawyer can include drafting insurance policies, reinsurance treaties and other transactional documents; managing compliance for insurance, securities, banking, retirement and other regulations; corporate advice; representing claimants or insurers either as trial lawyer or in-house supervisor; underwriting coverage or adjusting claims for complex lines of business like directors and officers or mergers and acquisition insurance; working for an insurer, for a large law firm or solo practitioner, as a regulator, a broker or an agent.
