Description:
Behind every construction project is a complex web of insurance coverage
ranging from workers’ compensation insurance to cover injuries to
workers to default insurance to protect the general contractor from
contract defaults by one or more of its subcontractors. In the last few
years, there have been substantial changes to the methods of
construction insurance procurement and delivery. This program: provides
a description of the various insurance policies required for all
parties involved in the construction project; explores the modern trends
in construction insurance delivery and contract negotiations, including
Owner Controlled Insurance Programs (OCIPs), Contractor Controlled
Insurance Programs (CCIPs) and Wrap-Up Insurance; and discusses the
nuances of litigating or arbitrating construction insurance claims.
