Description:

You’ve won the lawsuit but now the defendant won’t pay the Judgment. Did you know that the judgment debtor is under no compulsion to pay? That’s right—the burden is on you, the judgment creditor, to locate the debtor’s assets and enforce your Judgment. This course examines in detail the process of enforcing a judgement and recovering the monies owed to your client.

Topics to be discussed include:
• An Overview of the Tools and Resources Available to Enforce Judgments and Obtain Post-Judgment Discovery
• The Fundamentals of Post-Judgment Litigation, including Voidable Transactions Law and Proceedings

For New York Attorneys: Newly admitted attorneys (those admitted to the New York State Bar for two years or less) may participate in Skills CLE courses in  live, nontraditional formats, where questions are allowed during the program (through June 30, 2023 per recent guidance of the CLE Board – for more information, click here).
