Private Equity and Health Care: Opportunities and Challenges (OnDemand)
Originally held on Monday, May 4, 2026 | 5:30 pm -7:00 pm
Description:
Private equity is increasingly changing how health care is financed, organized, and delivered. This in-person CLE program provides attorneys with an overview of private equity investment in health care and relevant legal, regulatory, and operational issues. Hear from public policy experts, practitioners, and regulators discuss the promise and potential benefits of private equity in this sector as well as the risks, challenges, and recent high-profile failures. The program will provide an overview of common transaction structures, including management services organizations, corporate practice of medicine and fee-splitting concerns, and allocation of control and flow of funds.
The program will address evolving regulatory oversight at the federal and state level. We will discuss New York’s material transaction law, recent Department of Health guidance, and legislative and regulatory developments in neighboring states and nationally.
