Description:
This CLE course will educate the audience about practice in the Housing Court. The course will discuss the current law and highlight recent changes to the New York City housing laws and the impact the Covid pandemic has had on the practice. Among the topics discussed will be the court’s jurisdiction, recent appearance changes due to the pandemic (including digital appearances), and the new technology and tools attorneys can use to assist tenants. Also addressed will be the ethical implications of these tools and the current race disparity and access to justice challenges before the Court.
