Description:
The United States Supreme Court's October 2017 term would be viewed as momentous by any measure. This was Justice Gorsuch's first full term on the Court and the first term of Donald Trump's presidency. And the case load has featured a large number of high-profile, difficult and important cases.

This program will examine the most significant aspects of the term in detail. A panel of highly prominent and highly knowledgeable professional, academic and judicial speakers will discuss the Court's most consequential decisions, analyze the implications for future developments and look ahead to the October 2018 and future terms.

The panel's discussion will consider significant areas of law and important cases, including:
  • Voting and districting (Gill v. Whitford, Husted v. A. Philip Randolph Institute, Benisek v. Lamone, Abbott v. Perez)
  • Separation of Powers and Constitutional Structure (Oil States Energy Services, LLC v. Greene's Energy Group, Lucia v. SEC, Trump v. Hawaii)
