Description:
Ruth Bader Ginsburg was a major force in American jurisprudence. Her decisions and dissents offer a thoughtful and rigorous legal analysis, and demonstrate her ongoing commitment to gender equality and equal justice for all. In honor of her legacy, this program will feature a discussion of four of Justice Ginsburg’s most important dissents and decisions relating to gender equality, voting rights, and equal pay: Reed v. Reed; Ledbetter v. Goodyear Tire; Shelby County v. Holder; and U.S. v. Virginia, plus a few additional cases. We will discuss the relevant historical context of each case, as well as how her work has impacted society and the law.
