Here are the panels and descriptions of each:

Panel 1: Advanced Humanitarian Immigration Law 2024

This panel will provide you an opportunity to gain comprehensive knowledge of humanitarian immigration law in 2024. With the recent influx of migrants, those fleeing war-torn areas, and evolving immigration policies, understanding the intricacies of humanitarian relief is more critical than ever. We will provide an overview of the basics of immigration law, including the immigration agencies and types of humanitarian relief that are relevant to our discussion. We will then take a deeper look at the recent changes in asylum law, DACA protection, T and U visas, Temporary Protected Status, and Parole. This course is designed to equip attorneys with the knowledge and skills to navigate the complexities of humanitarian immigration cases effectively.

Panel 2: Fraud Prevention and Prosecution in Immigration Law: A Primer for Attorneys

During this panel, attendees will learn about U-Visas and immigration fraud cases from the perspective of the prosecutors’ office. Additionally, we will review the criminal law statutes used to prosecute fraud cases. The panel will end with an explanation of new and common immigration scams. More importantly, it will provide practical advice, equip attendees with the tools to report fraud to law enforcement entities and overcome the barriers that often prevent immigrants from seeking redress.

Panel 3: Navigating Employment and Labor Laws for Attorneys Advising Immigrant Workers

This panel is tailored for attorneys who need to understand employment law to effectively advise a migrant population. It will delve into employment law protections for immigrant workers, discussing the latest developments in labor laws and providing a comprehensive overview of the employment authorization process. Attorneys will gain insights into Temporary Protected Status and learn how to counsel their clients on labor protections and tax considerations.

Panel 4: AI in Immigration Law: Practice and Ethics

In an era where technology and legal practice intersect more than ever, “AI in Immigration Law: Practical Applications and Ethical Considerations” is a timely Continuing Legal Education (CLE) session designed for legal professionals navigating the complexities of immigration law through the lens of artificial intelligence (AI). The legal landscape is rapidly evolving with the integration of AI technologies, offering unprecedented tools for enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and client service in immigration practice. From case management and document analysis to client communication and legal research, AI’s capabilities are vast. However, the adoption of such technologies also brings forth a plethora of ethical considerations.
