Small Law Firm Symposium 2023
Cyber Threats: Identify the Risk at Your Law Firm and Stay Ahead of the Curve (OnDemand)
Originally held on Thursday, November 9, 2023 | 1:20 pm – 2:20 pm
Description:
In today’s digital age, news of data breaches and cyber-attacks are a looming threat to both
clients’ trust and a law firm’s reputation. Such attacks can cripple large and mid-sized firms. But
for small law firms, these incidents can be financially devastating and do irreparable damage to
the reputation and trust that is the cornerstone of a small law firm’s business. Our panel will
explore cybersecurity threats as they relate to the small law firm. We will identify cyber-related
vulnerabilities common to small firms, exploits of cybercriminals, and mitigation steps that need
to be taken should a data breach occur. Our panelists will discuss a hypothetical case study of a
small law firm and examine what, where, and how vulnerabilities, non-compliance, and data
breach risks present themselves. We will examine how small law firm attorneys should address
these issues when they occur and most importantly how to prevent them.
