Description:
The dangers posed by hacking and other forms of internet crime threaten almost every area of life, including employee benefit plans. This CLE program, which will include speakers from the US Department of Labor, will provide attendees with a deeper awareness of the many cyber threats to employee benefits plans, a better understanding of the laws that may apply to this area (such as the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA) and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)), and security initiatives that lawyers can recommend to benefit plan sponsors and fiduciaries.
