Description:

Are you a GC or CCO of a construction company who wants to know more about the latest national and local law enforcement trends and compliance expectations in your industry?  Or are you a private practitioner with construction clients vulnerable to industry corruption and fraud? Attendees will learn the major traps for the unwary and how construction clients can be protected. Topics include: the False Claims Act in the CARES Act era; the DOJ’s new “Corporate Crime Advisory Group” and recent crackdown on “bid rigging”; MWBEs and the “Commercially Useful Function”; common industry prosecutions under the Penal Law, Workers Compensation Law and Labor Law including the new Construction Wage Theft Law; “Pay to Play”, what constitutes larceny and recent government interpretations of bribe receiving; and what the DOJ and local law enforcement expect of your compliance programs. A similar program with an international focus is being developed for the fall.
