It has been 40 years since the veil was lifted on NYPD investigative tactics into political activity. Since the inception of the Handschu consent decree, the interplay between protected expression and legitimate law enforcement investigations has become even more complicated. Join us for a discussion on the current state of the balancing of free expression and protected political activity and law enforcement authority that has taken place in the 40 years since this landmark case was filed.
