Description:
There are practicing attorneys who have pursued documentary filmmaking for various reasons, often as a way to explore important social issues or share their passion for storytelling. We invite you to this networking luncheon to meet with Lily Fan and Adam Weissman. 

Lily Fan is Chair of the New York State Liquor Authority. She was previously a Commissioner at the Liquor Authority, an attorney in the NYS Senate, and a litigation associate at Morrison & Foerster LLP.  Her documentary film credits as a producer include Weiner (winner of 2016 Sundance Grand Jury Prize) and Photographic Justice: The Corky Lee Story. Lily is also a Tony Award winning co-producer of the Broadway show Hadestown. She has also co-produced Chinglish, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Iceman Cometh, and others. Come hear about Lily's passion for the arts, community work, and her journey as a producer. 

Adam Weissman is a media and entertainment lawyer with a focus on intellectual property and commercial transactions. Through his legal specialty, he has represented many filmmakers, producers, and other artists. Hear Adam’s journey on how he branched out to creating a documentary and how this work made him a better lawyer, helped him rediscover what he loves about his legal practice, and even generated new business. Adam is chair of the Small Law Firm Committee 

This event will include a discussion with the speakers and time to network with attendees. Lunch will be served.
