Description:
Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming the world in various ways, offering immense potential benefits for sustainable development, innovation, and human well-being, but also posing significant challenges and risks for society, governance, and human rights. To address these opportunities and challenges, multilateral organizations are collaborating to develop principles, guidelines, and frameworks for the responsible and ethical use of AI, such as the OECD Principles on AI, the UNESCO Recommendation on the Ethics of AI, and the UN Secretary-General's Roadmap for Digital Cooperation.

The roundtable discussion will feature distinguished speakers from the United Nations, the OECD, the World Bank, and the International Monetary Fund to share their perspectives and experiences on the global governance and policy development of AI, and to explore ways to foster international cooperation and alignment on AI to ensure AI systems are transparent, fair and sustainable. Attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of how these global entities are working together to address the challenges and opportunities presented by AI, fostering international cooperation to close digital divides, promote sustainable development, and uphold human rights. This roundtable is a must-attend for legal professionals, policymakers, and stakeholders interested in the ethical governance of AI and its implications for global economic and social landscapes.
