Description:
One of the greatest resources available to women in the workplace is the most obvious: each other. Women rely on one another for any number of things: as friends, confidantes, role models; even as clients, and managers. Why, then, do many women encounter difficulties in seeing those relationships transcend to sponsorship or pathways to professional growth? While men have often used their friendships and relationships as a basis for business generation or development, women have less frequently used their relationships with one another in the workplace for the same kind of growth. This year, we will host a panel of women general counsels who will discuss this phenomenon. The purpose of this panel is to discuss how women can foster meaningful relationships in the workspace, and importantly, how top legal leaders can be a resource to their younger colleagues. Be it camaraderie, guidance, or resources: our conversation will center on how women can develop and maintain their community in the professional world.
