Newly admitted New York attorneys (attorneys admitted to the New York State Bar for two years or less) cannot earn CLE credit in the category of Diversity, Inclusion and Elimination of Bias.

This CLE will explore recent case examples of legal liabilities raised out of the use artificial intelligence, specifically instances of potential biases in the use of facial recognition programs.  The program will be led by an expert legal panel which will focus on challenges facing government agencies and private companies that are in a position to collect data and rely on artificial intelligence programs.  The topics will also include guidance on best practices for entities collecting facial recognition data, relying on facial recognition in criminal cases, and using artificial intelligence in hiring processes.  Attendees will learn how biases in AI can occur, recent litigations regarding AI bias, and best practices for client guidance. 

The Panel for this event includes Ted Claypoole of Womble Bond Dickenson (US) LLP, Former U.S. District Judge Katherine Forrest (currently a Partner at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP), Former IBM Executive Dr. John Kelly III, and Stephen Wu of Silicon Valley Law Group.
