Best Practices To Avoid A Legal Malpractice Claim
Best Practices To Avoid A Legal Malpractice Claim
Thursday, February 26, 2026 | 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Online registration is now closed. Please call 212 382 6663 for assistance!
Format: WEBINAR
Description:
As legal malpractice claims continue to rise, so does the cost of defending lawyers. Ensuring you have sufficient legal malpractice insurance coverage is critical for many reasons. Speakers will discuss the impact of nuclear verdicts, the ethical implications of being underinsured, and how you can protect yourself and your firm through strong client intake procedures. Our speakers will examine NY Rules of Professional Conduct concerning your ethical responsibilities related to client communication and conflicts of interest. They will explain the necessity of having a strong client interview and intake process and how to tailor your engagement letters to ensure you accurately state the scope of representation. By outlining your duties and the client's obligations from the start, you will be better equipped to manage expectations throughout the representation and avoid disputes.
