This dynamic CLE program brings together seasoned practitioners from both coasts to explore the evolving legal landscape surrounding premarital agreements, estate planning, divorce, and death. Participants will gain a comparative understanding of how these issues are approached in key East Coast and West Coast jurisdictions, with a focus on practical strategies, jurisdictional nuances, and emerging trends. 

Topics will include:

  • Drafting and enforcing premarital agreements: coastal contrasts and common pitfalls
  • Estate planning considerations for blended families and high-net-worth individuals
  • Divorce and death: what happens when both occur in close succession
  • Community property vs. equitable distribution: implications for asset division
  • Cross-jurisdictional challenges and planning opportunities
