This course will develop the skills relied upon by lawyers when engaged in public speaking situations - whether in a courtroom, conference room, or large auditorium. Attendees will learn how to prepare, practice and deliver a talk in an interesting way. Gain knowledge on how to effectively use relevant quotations and anecdotes (not jokes); make eye contact; and gesture like a pro.

Topics will include:
  • Knowing your audience
  • Determining the optimum time for various talks
  • Preparing your talk with a good opening and good closing
  • Delivery techniques
  • How persuasive public speaking enables lawyers to “make a difference.”

By learning and following time-honored techniques, you’ll no longer fear speaking to groups of any size and be known as “a tough act to follow.”
