Members who are Recent Law Graduates, Newly Admitted Lawyers (admitted for the first time in any state or country 2017-2019), In-House/Corporate Counsel, Judges, or attorneys that practice within the Government, Academic or Not-for-Profit sectors attend this program for free.

Description:
This course will develop the skills relied upon by lawyers when engaged in public speaking situations - whether in a courtroom, conference room, or large auditorium. Attendees will learn how to prepare, practice and deliver a talk in an interesting way. Gain knowledge on how to effectively use relevant quotations and anecdotes (not jokes); make eye contact; and gesture like a pro.
Topics will include:
Knowing your audience
Determining the optimum time for various talks
Preparing your talk with a good opening and good closing
Delivery techniques
How persuasive public speaking enables lawyers to “make a difference.”
By learning and following time-honored techniques, you’ll no longer fear speaking to groups of any size and be known as “a tough act to follow.”
