Wednesday, December 18, 2024 | 12:00 pm – 1:45 pm
Online registration is now closed. Please call Customer relations at 212 382 6663 to register or for assistance.
Description:
The senior employment lawyers on the panel will address the bases of a so-called wrongful termination claim and explain why the title of the program is a misnomer. In that regard they will address possible contract, tort, retaliation or whistle-blowing, and discrimination claims that can be brought. The panelists will also address best practices in preparing for litigation from both the plaintiff’s and defendant’s perspectives. In addition, the program will cover considerations in deciding upon the venue in which to bring the claim and address the advantages and disadvantages of such claims in state or federal court or in arbitration from both perspectives. Finally, the program will address various strategies for defendants to consider in responding to the foregoing types of claims.
This is a must see program for in-house lawyers who are called upon to handle employment matters and outside counsel who practice in this space and want to get insights from an esteemed panel of employment practitioners.
