THE CITY BAR JUSTICE CENTER ("CBJC") PROVIDES LIFE-CHANGING, PRO BONO LEGAL ASSISTANCE TO LOW-INCOME NEW YORKERS
WITH YOUR HELP, LAST YEAR CBJC:
  • leveraged $20.3 million in free legal services for those not able to afford assistance
  • supported 20,000 poor and undeserved New Yorkers on matters ranging from consumer bankruptcy to human trafficking
  • mobilized, trained, and mentored 1,000 lawyers to help low-income, disadvantaged New Yorkers
BUT THE NEED IS NOT GOING AWAY AND NEW CHALLENGES ARISE:
  • CBJC's free Legal Hotline can only answer 1 out of 2 calls received
  • 1 in 4 New Yorkers lives in poverty
  • 50,000 people are in NYC homeless shelters (60% increase in last decade)

YOUR SUPPORT MAKES A DIFFERENCE! Every donation counts. Please give what you can and help CBJC provide free civil legal services to the poor and underserved in New York City, who cannot afford a lawyer. There is no right to counsel for civil legal matters.

Your donation is a reportable contribution under New York State’s biennial pro bono reporting requirement for attorneys.*
