This program provides transitional/non-transitional credit to all attorneys

Description:
Non-elder law attorneys will become familiar with the elder law issues that may arise in their practices, whether it be a real estate attorney transferring real property of a disabled or elderly person, a personal injury or other plaintiffs’ side attorney whose client lacks capacity, or a matrimonial attorney who suspects their client has diminished capacity.

Attendees will learn the following:
  1. How to identify and handle clients with diminished capacity
  2. What to do if your plaintiff in a litigation is incapacitated
  3. Understand different government benefits and how they could be affected by a lawsuit
