Human Genome Editing:
Twenty-First Century Debates in Science, Law and Bioethics
Thursday, June 22, 2017 | 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Program Fee: Free for Members | $10 for Non-Members

Description:
The challenges now posed by advances in human genome-editing technologies, including the CRISPR/Cas9 system, call for serious and urgent attention to the multiple uses of such technologies and methods, their human applications, and ethical implications for human health and well being and planetary evolution. This program will explore the science that has made these advances possible and a wide range of complex legal and ethical issues that need to be grappled with in global and environmental contexts. Scholars representing multidisciplinary perspectives will discuss the profound questions that genome-editing science and technology raise and how these questions may challenge the ground and limits of knowledge about human and animal development.
