As the value of judgments coming out of large scale litigation continues to rise, so does the complexity of enforcing those judgments and maintaining an effective deterrent. Companies today often have assets distributed over a variety structures in off-shore financial centers around the world, creating significant roadblocks to enforcement of judgments. At this program, an experienced group of panelists in enforcing high value judgments and recovering stolen assets will share their first-hand insights into the international judgment enforcement and asset recovery process, including:
•Understanding the importance of judgment enforcement planning
•Learning the global trouble spots for evasive debtors
•Special enforcement considerations in Asian jurisdictions
•Asset location tools- How to find assets world-wide
•Asset collection tools- How to get your judgment when it's in a foreign jurisdiction; and
•Considerations During Litigation Phase to Aid Enforcement Phase
The faculty includes English barristers with expertise in breaking complex offshore trusts and structures and former U.S. government lawyers with deep experience in international asset forfeiture.
