This panel discussion will explore the consequences of crew involvement for New York City youth, and the exit strategies available to youth seeking to leave the crew lifestyle. Our discussion will focus on the decline of gangs and the rise of crews, the fluid, less-organized version of the traditional gang. Other topics will include pathways to crew involvement, the gender and dynamics of crew-involved youth, and whether a safe exit for crew-involved youth presently exists.
