Swimming in the Deep End: Groundlessness in the Practice of Law
Monday, November 20, 2017 | Program 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Program Fee:
Free for Members | $25 for Non-Members

How do we maintain our health and happiness in law practice when faced with the unfamiliar: job instability, unusually severe workloads, and personal emergencies? For many lawyers, this lack of general control can compound with these difficulties to generate even greater fear and suffering. In this program, we will learn simple practices that allow us to embrace the feeling of groundlessness, and we will discuss the lessons that groundlessness can provide us in everyday life.

Leonard Simmons is an associate at Seward & Kissel in the Investment Management group and is a member of the Mindfulness in Law Group Steering Committee. Leonard recently completed a year-long Mindfulness in Law Teacher Training and has given presentations on mindfulness to law students at William & Mary and St. Johns.
