Facing Retirement: Open the Door to a New Life, a New Career, and a New Outlook

Description:
The panel will explore the factors that promote a healthy mind, body and spirit by considering the helpfulness of life coaching, healthful dietary habits, and positive attitudes while going through the transition process. Light refreshments will be served.

Speakers:
Melvin Simensky, Lawyer, teacher, author and life coach. Mel is retired and practiced law for almost 40 years; taught as an adjunct at NYU School of Law for 17 years; and with colleagues co-published 5 legal texts on his specialty. He later transitioned to life coaching and specializes in "Coaching Lawyers in Transition." His article of the same name is being considered for publication by The New York State Bar Assoc. As a transition/career coach, Mel is presently writing a book on coaching professionals in transition and in their careers.

Robert Ostfeld, MD, MSc, Cardiologist, is the Director of the Cardiology Wellness Program at Montefiore Medical Center, an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the Associate Director of the Cardiology Fellowship at Montefiore-Einstein.

Stephen Chinlund, Author and retired Episcopal Minister, he has been deeply involved in the prison system of New York and served as Chairman of the New York State Commission of Correction and as Superintendent of the Taconic Correctional Facility. He was Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters. He is the author of Prison Transformations: The System, the Prisoners, and Me. He has years of experience in helping others to solve problems and find joy in life’s phases.
