Description:
The LGBTQ+ Pride Reception provides attorneys, summer associates, law students and others tremendous opportunities to network with members of the LGBTQ community and to celebrate diversity.
At this annual event, the LGBTQ Rights Committee will present their annual Arthur S. Leonard Awards, recognizing those who have made a compelling commitment to LGBTQ equality through the law. The Arthur S. Leonard Award is named in honor of Professor Arthur S. Leonard, whose contribution to LGBTQ legal scholarship and distinguished career of LGBTQ advocacy represent the best of the legal profession and our diverse community.
This year's 2023 Arthur S. Leonard Award recipients are:

, Associate Director, Immigration Legal Services at the Sex Workers Project at the Urban Justice Center
Note:
The LGBTQ Rights Committee along with the Women in the Legal Profession Committee are continuously engaged in an initiative to have a portrait of the late Honorable Judge Deborah Batts, who was the nation's first openly LGBTQ Federal Judge, placed in the New York City Bar building in 2023.
